Privacy Policy
The short version
- Your bills, products, customers and expenses are stored on your phone. We don't run a server that receives them, and you don't need an account.
- If you choose Google Drive backup, the backup file goes to a private app folder in your own Google Drive. We can't see it.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. BillDash Pro removes ads.
- We use Google and Meta services for ads, notifications, payments and measuring our app campaigns — listed below.
- We never sell your data.
1. Who we are
BillDash is a point-of-sale (POS) billing app made by Ncaps Infotech, Bengaluru, India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the BillDash Android app and the website getbilldash.in handle, why, and the choices you have.
2. Data you enter in the app
Everything you enter while using BillDash is saved in the app's storage on your device, including:
- Business details: business name, address, phone, GSTIN, FSSAI number and business logo.
- Products, categories, prices, cost prices, GST rates and product photos.
- Bills and sales, payment method (cash, UPI or card), discounts and parcel charges.
- Customer details you choose to add (such as name and phone number).
- Expenses and receipt photos.
- App settings such as theme, printer, receipt options and app-lock settings.
This data is not uploaded to us. It stays on your device unless you export it, share a receipt, create a backup or use Google Drive backup. Your app-lock PIN is stored on your device only in a scrambled (hashed) form.
3. Google Drive backup
Google Drive backup is optional. When you tap Connect Google Drive, Google asks for your permission. BillDash requests only this permission:

- BillDash cannot see or open any other file in your Google Drive.
- The backup file is sent directly between your device and Google. It is never sent to our servers, and we cannot access it.
- BillDash reads your Google account's email address only to show which account is connected on the Backup screen. It stays on your device.
- Automatic Drive backups (BillDash Pro) upload a fresh backup on the schedule you choose.
BillDash's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and no person at Ncaps Infotech reads it.
To stop Drive backup, tap Disconnect in the app, or remove BillDash at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete the backup file, open Google Drive on the web → Settings → Manage apps → BillDash → Delete hidden app data.
4. Services from other companies
BillDash uses the following services. Each one collects some technical information directly under its own privacy policy:

You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
5. Device permissions
- Bluetooth — to find and print to your Bluetooth receipt printer.
- Camera — only when you take a product or receipt photo.
- Notifications — to show notifications. You can turn them off in More → Notifications or in Android settings.
- Fingerprint / biometrics — only if you turn on app lock with fingerprint. Your fingerprint is checked by Android; BillDash never receives it.
- Internet — for ads, notifications, subscriptions, Google Drive backup and product photo suggestions.
6. Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Data leaves your device only in the ways described above, or when you choose to share it — for example sharing a receipt on WhatsApp, exporting a CSV/PDF report or sending a backup file.
If you contact us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and the messages you send, and use them only to help you.
7. Keeping and deleting your data
- On your device: data stays until you delete it. Use Settings → Reset All Data, or uninstall the app, to erase it.
- Google Drive backup: stays in your Drive until you delete it (see section 3).
- Backup files you exported: stay wherever you saved them.
- Third-party services: kept according to each company's own policy.
8. Security
Your data is protected by your device's security and, if you turn it on, BillDash app lock. Google Drive backups are transferred over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of storage or transfer is 100% secure, so keep your phone locked and keep backups.
9. Children
BillDash is a business tool and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Your choices and rights
You control your data in the app: you can view, edit, export and delete it at any time, disconnect Google Drive, turn off notifications, and reset your advertising ID. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and similar laws you may ask us questions or raise a grievance about how your personal data is handled — contact us below.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's Play Store release notes.
